Minor Metals

Antimony

Antimony is a silvery-white metal, often combined with other metals to form alloys or antimony oxide. Antimony is used in various industrial applications. For instance, it is a key component in flame retardants found in plastics, cable insulation, and textiles. Additionally, antimony-based compounds are utilized in soldering, porcelain production, and ceramics.

Minor Metals

Chromium

Chromium is a hard, brittle, steel-grey transition metal, known for its lustrous appearance. Chromite ore is primarily used in metallurgy, chemicals, refractories, and the foundry industry.

In metallurgy, the most significant use of chromite is in the production of ferrochrome, which is essential for manufacturing stainless steel.

Manganese

Manganese is a hard, brittle, silvery metal, often found combined with iron in minerals.
Most of the manganese is used in the iron and steel industry, with 90-95% of the mined ore being consumed here.
The second largest sector for manganese is the battery and chemical industries in different grades and percentages.
